Photography transcends a missing link between our visual understanding of the world and the art that we choose to see. Hi, I am Nancy Lee. I am an Inland Empire native who presents a new way of experiencing and visualizing the desert; focusing on the hidden and more often abandoned gems. I explore and shoot primarily in the Mojave Desert, Coachella Valley,  parts of Palm Springs, and more recently San Diego County. My expression of the desert has an influence on the simple interactions with the natural world that we take for granted. I like to highlight abandoned buildings and give you an intimate glimpse that is up-close and personal, bringing you to places that carry a sense of familiarity. My surreal portraits of desert flowers, Joshua Trees, and cacti are littered with details that keep your eyes glued to them. I hope I can transform your ideas of the rustic desert into a visual presentation that twists colors and angles showing you why it’s called a living desert.
